The Firstmark Influencer of Tomorrow (F.I.T.) Award is a monthly recognition program established by Firstmark Credit Union to honor exceptional members of the education community who are making a meaningful and lasting impact on students, schools, and communities. By submitting a nomination, nominators acknowledge and agree to the following Program Guidelines and Official Terms.
Program Eligibility: Eligible nominees must be currently employed by an Early Childhood through 12th Grade public, private, or charter school located within the Greater San Antonio area, as defined by the following counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, Kendall, Medina, and Wilson; and serve in a role that directly supports students, schools, or the education community. Eligible positions may include, but are not limited to, teachers, counselors, administrators, librarians, coaches, paraprofessionals, child nutrition staff, transportation staff, custodial staff, front office personnel, and other school support professionals. Nominees must be actively employed in an eligible position at the time of selection. Current Firstmark Credit Union employees, directors, committee members, and immediate family members are not eligible.
Who May Submit a Nomination: Nominations are open to students, parents or guardians, colleagues, school administrators, community members, and others who wish to recognize an eligible member of the education community. No purchase, membership, account, or financial relationship with Firstmark Credit Union is required to submit a nomination or to be selected as a F.I.T. Honoree.
Nomination Period: Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the current program year. Eligible nominations remain active for consideration during the current program year. New nominations are encouraged for each program year.
Selection Process: Each month, a Firstmark Credit Union selection committee reviews eligible nominations using a standardized evaluation process. Selection is based on the nominee’s demonstrated positive influence, leadership, service, community impact, and overall strength of the nomination. One honoree will be recognized each month during the program year. Individuals may receive multiple nominations but may only be selected as a F.I.T. Honoree once per program year. The number of nominations received for an individual may be considered but does not guarantee selection. All selection committee decisions are final.
Honoree Recognition: Each monthly F.I.T. Honoree will receive a $1,000 award, official Firstmark recognition, recognition within their school community, features across Firstmark’s digital and social channels, and a surprise presentation celebrating their impact.
Verification of Eligibility: Firstmark Credit Union reserves the right to verify all nomination information, employment status, and eligibility prior to selecting or recognizing an honoree. Incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading nominations may be disqualified.
Publicity: Selected honorees may be asked to participate in recognition activities, including photography, videography, interviews, and promotional materials. Prior to any public recognition, Firstmark Credit Union will obtain the appropriate publicity and media release forms from the honoree and any other required parties. Recognition activities conducted on school property may be subject to school or district approval and applicable policies.
Taxes: Honorees are responsible for any applicable federal, state, or local taxes associated with the $1,000 recognition award. Firstmark Credit Union will comply with all applicable tax reporting requirements.
Program Changes: Firstmark Credit Union reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the F.I.T. Award program, including these Program Guidelines and Official Terms, at any time and without prior notice.
