San Antonio’s original hometown credit union is putting its support behind the UT San Antonio Roadrunners’ first-generation students and next generation of graduates
SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 2, 2026) – Firstmark Credit Union is excited to announce its official partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio Athletics and Alumni Association. UT San Antonio is San Antonio’s first Tier One university, and Firstmark was one of the first credit unions established in San Antonio, serving generations of San Antonio families for over nine decades. This is a homegrown celebration that furthers Firstmark’s commitment to supporting the local area.
Firstmark’s partnerships with UTSA Athletics and the UT San Antonio Alumni Association are community investment platforms built around three focus areas: local pride, promoting financial well-being and success, and celebrating first-generation students and scholars. Firstmark aims to increase access to a hometown credit union that puts community first.

Official UTSA Athletics Partnership Details
Through the multi-year Athletics partnership, Firstmark also becomes the Presenting Sponsor of the First-Gen Program. This program is central to Firstmark’s core philosophy around education. Roughly 44% of UT San Antonio undergraduates — about 14,700 students — are the first in their families to attend college. This sponsorship includes a milestone-triggered $5,000 scholarship fund to be awarded to a deserving First-Gen undergraduate student in the 2026-27 academic year. The partnership was brokered by UTSA Sports Properties, a property of Playfly Sports, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for UTSA Athletics.
Firstmark’s partnership with UTSA Athletics will also include stories highlighting UT San Antonio First-Gen students, a $2,011 sweepstakes to commemorate the year of UT San Antonio’s first-ever football season, swag giveaways, and financial wellness sessions for student-athletes.
Official UT San Antonio Alumni Association Partnership Details
As an official partner of the UT San Antonio Alumni Association, Firstmark will be able to support UT San Antonio’s 210,000+ alumni nationwide (177,000+ in Texas) during major life milestones that alumni navigate after graduation, like home buying, paying off debt and procuring a loan for a car purchase.
As a part of this sponsorship, Firstmark will help create impactful experiences like sponsoring the $5,000 Firstmark Credit Union Alumni Scholarship to be awarded later this fall. Firstmark will also help power the Now & Forever 2026 Alumni Gala and the Fall and Spring Early Bird Breakfast.
