Vanessa Rosemond serves Scenic Hills Christian Academy not only as a dedicated staff leader, but as a proud alumna who understands the school’s heart and history firsthand. Having attended the school from elementary through graduation, she carries a deep personal connection to its mission and students. Today, she helps steward opportunities that strengthen programs and support student growth—especially in areas that have long lacked resources but are rich with potential.

Through funds from the Firstmark Foundation, Music in the Making was created. Vanessa helped equip the school’s growing music program with essential music stands, a simple but transformative need. For years, the school operated without a formal music department, relying on borrowed equipment while working to build something sustainable. With the grant, the program gained sturdy, high quality stands that allow students to properly read music, maintain correct posture, and fully engage in rehearsals. The improvement has made day to day instruction smoother and elevated the program to feel on par with larger schools.

The impact reaches beyond functionality. Students now experience a stronger sense of pride and belonging, knowing their program is valued and supported. As the music department continues to grow under the leadership of a former student who returned to give back, these resources help lay the foundation for confidence, community, and creative expression ensuring that future students have opportunities that once felt out of reach.
