Dear Members,

I want to begin by thanking you for your patience and kindness during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. You have been a great source of inspiration to us; after all, we exist for you! Firstmark has been classified an essential business, but truly, you are essential to our business – and we are honored to serve you.

To protect our members and employees, we addressed this crisis head on and quickly modified the way we do business. We temporarily closed our lobbies, shortened our hours of operation, and closed on Saturdays. You have been patient with the longer wait times in our drive-thru lanes and in the call center. You have completed your transactions online or on our mobile app in the comfort and safety of your homes. You have responded with great appreciation for the pandemic relief options we put in place to help you through this difficult season. We also continue to offer information through social media to empower you with helpful tips such as how to make a face mask and how to cope during homeschooling. Behind all these actions is our great care and appreciation for you.

Essential to our success are the dedicated employees who serve our members. Early on, we took decisive action to help keep our employees safe. We provided all employees with unlimited paid pandemic sick leave, and many employees have been equipped to work from home. We also purchased cloth masks for every employee to help maintain their safety no matter where they are. From the teller line and across every department, our employees have responded to this crisis with a high level of integrity and a shared commitment that makes me proud.

Essential to the ongoing success of our children are the dedicated educators and administrators who serve across our city. They are simply amazing! To help, we partnered with school districts across San Antonio to provide bags for teachers to send school assignments home for students who do not have internet access. To assist further, we made a monetary donation to San Antonio Independent School District to help provide low-income students with internet access.

Essential to the ongoing health of our community are the many healthcare workers who serve in harm’s way! Words fall so short to express our sincere gratitude, so Firstmark donated N95 masks to local healthcare workers to show the great care and concern we have for these brave individuals.

To the education and healthcare communities, first responders, and government leaders, you are continually in our thoughts and prayers. The way we have come together to protect one another is nothing short of extraordinary. It is amazing what human beings can do when we work together for a common purpose.

We have been serving members since 1932. Eighty-eight years later, Firstmark is stronger than ever, and we are ready to help you. If you need assistance, please visit our website or give us a call at 210.442.0100 – we will get through this together.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the employees of Firstmark Credit Union, we thank you for your membership.

Sincerely,

Nathanael Tarwasokono, President/CEO
