San Antonio, TX (September 24, 2021) – It is that time of year again! Firstmark Credit Union is now accepting applications for the 2021 Educator Grant program through October 29, 2021. Every year, Firstmark awards $7,500 to outstanding educators to fund innovative programming and education initiatives. Interested educators (including education support staff who work directly with students) are invited to submit an application for a $500 Educator Grant. Fifteen grant award recipients will be selected and announced on November 15, 2021.

“Firstmark knows how much our educators and support staff give of themselves to ensure students have access to new and exciting ways of learning,” said Marisa Perez-Diaz, executive director of the Firstmark Credit Union Foundation. “Many times, those who selflessly serve our children also give of themselves financially, personally covering various expenses to provide fundamental resources. With the Firstmark Educator Grant, we can help fill a gap and meet a need that benefits hard-working educators and their students.”

The Firstmark Educator Grants are for full-time, K-12 educators and support staff. Grants are awarded to fund innovative project ideas, including the materials necessary to successfully carryout the project. To date, Firstmark has awarded over $70,000 in support of educators and their students. Applicants are asked  to outline their project ideas, explain how the project will benefit students and describe measurements of success. Educators may apply online at firstmarkcu.org/educator-grants through October 29, 2021.

The Firstmark Credit Union Foundation is a 501(c)3 Public Charity, dedicated to supporting initiatives that enrich the schools in our community.
