A Day of Giving Back

To show our gratitude to teachers for their outstanding dedication to our students, we are donating 1,000 frozen turkeys to 1,000 teachers in our 2nd Annual Turkeys For Teachers.

In this month of giving thanks, Firstmark Credit Union will show its appreciation to 1,000 teachers for their commitment in and out of the classroom, resilience and dedication to preparing students for success.

Drive-Thru Event

To maintain social distancing and keep our teachers and event volunteers safe, participants will remain in their vehicles the entire time during Turkeys For Teachers drive-thru event.

Teachers Can Expect

All current classroom teachers who register* for the event will receive:

  • A free frozen turkey (12-16 pounds)
  • A chance to win door prizes - winners announced on the spot! ($100 Gift Cards)
  • A swag bag of goodies

  • Our heartfelt thanks!

Who’s Eligible?

Any ACTIVE and certified teacher in any school district in the state of Texas, employed by an accredited Pre-K-12 public, a private, charter, or parochial school in the state of Texas. Teacher verification is required. Please bring ONE of the following items at the check-in station:

  • Copy of valid Texas Teacher Certificate (non-expired)
  • School District/School Photo ID/Badge
  • Paystub

  • Who is eligible?

    We appreciate all retired teachers, substitutes, home school teachers, and post-secondary professors. While this event is only open to active teachers, we encourage you to visit your nearest Firstmark Credit Union financial center to get a FREE Academic Calendar as a token of our appreciation for your service and dedication.

  • I’m a pre-school, day care, home-school teacher, or retired teacher. Am I eligible for this offer?

    If you have been certified by the state of Texas for Pre-K–12 grades and hold an active Department of Education number, you are eligible. Otherwise, you do not meet the requirements for this event.

    We appreciate all retired teachers, substitutes, home school teachers, and post-secondary professors.   • Do I have to be present to pick up my turkey?

    Yes.

    All eligible and registered teachers are required to be present to pick up a frozen turkey. An Eventbrite ticket and school ID/Badge, paystub or copy of your Texas Teacher Certificate will need to be present at the time of check-in.

  • What do I need to bring to Check-In on the day of the event?

    Teacher verification is required. Please bring one of the following items to the check-in station:

    • Copy of valid Texas Teacher Certificate (non-expired)
    • School District/School Photo ID/Badge
    • Paystub

    Plus, your .Eventbrite ticket (printed, or via app, or on your device).

  • Is this a family-friendly event?

    Families are welcomed; however, all registered teachers must remain in their vehicle during the turkey pick up. Music and a turkey mascot will be present to entertain you while you safely wait in line.

  • What happens if I cannot make the event after registering?

    Please update your registration to allow another deserving teacher to receive a turkey. There will be a waiting list, so we know they will appreciate the opportunity to attend.

  • Will there be parking? What entrance will be best to enter?

    Turkeys for Teachers is a drive-thru event. Registered teachers will check in at the Check-in table and will then line up with the other vehicles to receive a free frozen turkey.

    We encourage registered teachers to enter through the 281 N entry onto Northwoods Boulevard. The official line will be at this entry point. Please see the map of the event site.

  • Can I register for more than one ticket?

    No. Sorry, only one ticket/turkey per teacher. 

  • Can I get out of my vehicle at any time?

    No, all participants at the Turkeys for Teachers event must remain in their vehicles the entire time during the drive-thru event. 

  • Will bathroom facilities be made available at Turkeys for Teachers?

    No. Bathroom facilities will not be open to the public during the drive thru-event. All participants must remain in their vehicles the entire time.
