4th Annual Firstmark Teacher Fest | August 14, 2021

Join us for our 4th Annual Firstmark Teacher Fest set for Saturday, August 14 from 5 p.m – 7:30 p.m., at The DoSeum! We will be gathering safely together in this indoor/outdoor event with plenty of elbow room for social distancing! This year, we are keeping our attendance to 500 educators! We know that returning to the classroom is vital for our families and children, and we want to celebrate YOU by hosting this year’s back-to-school event for teachers in a fun and safe setting!! If you’re already a Firstmark fan and have participated in years before, we welcome you back! And if this will be your first event to attend, we highly encourage you to text and IM your classroom-battle buddies and join us on August 14 for an information fest – you don’t want to miss out!

Unlike other back-to-school events, expos and fairs, Firstmark Teacher Fest is for educators only. This FREE event will have:

  • Community & Business Partners (Vendors) – Come meet with organizations and companies in our city who offer educator-only discounts/incentives/programs/packages!! 
  • Networking & Socializing Areas –  Meet other professionals in your field and collaborate! Experience The DoSeum’s amazing space! The entire venue is built with STEM and engagement in mind.
  • Break-Out Sessions –  Learn about different retirement options and how to plan for your future.
  • Tasty Food, Drinks, Music & Exploration –  Enjoy refreshing adult beverages and mingle with other educators while you explore and get inspired!
  • Door Prizes & Giveaways – Each community and business partner table will have door prizes, goodies & merch, and most importantly, resources for your classroom initiatives!

DoSeum Exploration | 5:15  - 7: 30 p.m.

It's much more than a children's museum! The DoSeum, is a a place where interactive fun and hands-on learning come together—a place where minds are always at play no matter your age. The DoSeum offers exhibits, programs, camps, classes and field trips designed for all learners, encouraging young minds to explore the joy of learning through connections to STEM, the arts and literacy.   • Who is eligible to attend Firstmark Teacher Fest?

    Event guests must be employed by an accredited Pre-K-12 public, private, charter, or parochial school. Eligible participants include teachers, counselors, administrators, librarians, and coaches. (Students, substitutes, retired teachers, or home schooled parents are not eligible to attend this particular event.)

    Must be at least 21 years of age and provide proof of your active educator employment status. You may present a school badge/ID, or a picture of your valid Teacher Certificate.

  • What proof do I need to provide? Any of the following items are acceptable forms of identification:
    • A valid school badge/ID
    • A pay stub from your school or ISD
    • A copy of or the original, valid Teacher Certificate
  • Is Teacher Fest a family-friendly event?

    No. Firstmark Teacher Fest is for educators only and is not considered a family-friendly event.

    Our goal is to reach as many educators in our city and surrounding counties with this special and unique event that provides resources for educators and administrative leaders, to take back to their classroom and campuses to assist in enriching the lives of the students they serve. Children and/or adult plus-ones (who are not educators) are not eligible to register for this event.

  • Will masks be required to participate at this event?

    Please note that the use of masks in the outdoor spaces is optional. However, out of the abundance of caution for both our staff, volunteers, and guests, we continue to require the use of masks for guests in the indoor spaces.

  • Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

    You can have your printed ticket or your Eventbrite electronic ticket (that was emailed to you). Having your ticket ready at the door will make it easier to get you registered with your swag bag upon entry. If you lost your ticket and registered, we will be able to retrieve it with your name, email, phone and ID.

  • Is my ticket transferrable?

    No. Unfortunately, your ticket is not transferrable because name badges will be printed for every RSVP.

  • What are my parking options at The DoSeum?

    The DoSeum is pleased to offer FREE parking spaces in their North parking lot located at the intersection of Humphreys Ave. and Margaret St.

    Additional visitor parking is available in our South (staff) parking lot along Brackenridge Ave.

    Guests, please respect our neighbors do not park in any lots belonging to neighboring businesses or Lion's Field Park. Parking in these lots may result in your car being towed at your own expense.

  • What can I expect with respect of safety and hygiene measures while at The DoSeum?

    Firstmark Credit Union has partnered with an event planning company that secured their Event COVID19 Compliance Certificate, to allow us to safely pull this event together for you this year. The venue will have cleaning and sanitizing activities, sanitizing stations, and signage promoting safe distancing throughout the museum. In addition, masks will be required to attend the event.
