What is MyMark?

Firstmark Credit Union’s MyMark provides the tools to help you successfully manage and track your finances. MyMark will help you create a budget, categorize your expenses, and identify ways to save more. MyMark also allows you to track upcoming bills and income. Let MyMark help you achieve your personal financial goals!

How do I add external accounts? How do I find my other financial institution(s)?
Adding additional accounts to your MyMark is easy! Simply follow these steps: 

  • Click the “Add” button located on the left of the MyMark Dashboard screen. 
  • Enter your financial institution’s name into the search box. Be sure to select the correct institution from the options that appear. 
  • Once you have selected the correct financial institution, enter your login information for that financial institution’s online banking service. Enter that information EXACTLY as you would when logging in to your account(s) on their website. If you are having trouble, try visiting the institution’s website and verifying that you have the right login information. 
  • Classify your account(s) by type. You should choose the closest choice if the exact account type is not listed. You may also input a custom account name if desired. Click “Save.” 
  • Wait for your accounts to upload. This may take several moments. It may take longer to load if you have more than one account with the institution. 
  • After the upload, your additional account should be added and visible. 
  • Please check that your login information is correct and still working if you receive an error message. Contact Support, located in the top left corner of your screen, if you are still unable to add your account then leave the partial attempt on your MyMark Dashboard to help with troubleshooting.

  1. Login or register for Online Banking
  2. Click on the "Services" tab
  3. Click on "Manage Money with MyMark"
  4. Connect all of your accounts

How does MyMark help me budget?

At Firstmark Credit Union, we want to help you achieve financial success! The best way to do that is sticking to a budget.  When you create a budget with MyMark, all of your spending begins to take form.  MyMark’s budgeting tools will show you how you are doing with what you have budgeted. It helps keep track of what you are spending, or saving. In MyMark, budgets always run from the first day to the last day of each month. MyMark automatically color-codes each spending target to give you an idea of how you’re doing this month. How smart is that?

How do I use a MyMark tagging rule?

In MyMark, you can make the changes you have made to one transaction tag and apply it to all similar transactions!  This will keep you from needing to tag each transaction individually. Simply check the box in the "Create a Rule" area of the transaction editor. This will allow you to choose from a number of different recurrence styles:

  • Apply for transactions from ALL ACCOUNTS for ANY TIME PERIOD
  • Apply for transactions from ALL ACCOUNTS for THIS TRANSACTION MOVING FORWARD
  • Apply for transactions from THIS ACCOUNT ONLY for ANY TIME PERIOD
  • Apply for transactions from THIS ACCOUNT ONLY for THIS TRANSACTION MOVING FORWARD

Please be sure that you want to apply this rule as specified, as it will affect all similar transactions in MyMark. For example, creating a rule for a ‘check’ transaction isn’t advised because it will apply that title and tag to all other checks. If you've made a mistake, creating a new rule on the same transaction will simply override the old one. We can also reset an inadvertent rule by submitting a support request.

How do I set up my email and/or mobile phone to receive MyMark alerts?

First click on the navigation item "Alerts" at the top of the screen. You can enter these preferences at the bottom of the MyMark Alerts page. As long as your cell phone can receive text messages, you can choose the mobile option. Please keep in mind that standard messaging charges will apply.

How do I start a budget in MyMark?

Starting a budget in MyMark is fun and easy. Simply go to the Budget page and click ‘New Spending Target’. Here you can set spending targets for particular categories of transactions. MyMark will use the tags you’ve created to determine how much money you have spent on a spending target. Remember that your Tags are case-sensitive, so you will need to match your Tags exactly as you have set them on each transaction. 

What does my MyMark Dashboard show me?

Your MyMark Dashboard will show your account(s), account(s) history, alerts, and widgets. You can customize your widgets, which are located on the right of your MyMark Dashboard screen. Available widgets include the Cashflow Calendar, Total Budget, Net Worth, Expenses, Bills, and Upcoming Income widgets. You can add or remove widgets as you like by clicking the gray “Customize Widgets” button. You can also click and drag the widgets to put them in any order you desire.  

How do I delete an account from MyMark?

You can only delete manually added accounts. Your Firstmark Credit Union accounts that were automatically added cannot be removed at this time. Take the following steps to delete an account:  

  • On your MyMark Dashboard screen, simply find the account you want to delete on the left side of your screen and click it.
  • Clicking the account directs you to that account’s detail page. Find and click the small gray link labeled “Edit” at the top of the screen by the account name. 
  • You are now on the Edit page. You will see the ‘delete an account’ option in red. To permanently delete your account, click “Delete.” 

What is a MyMark tag?

A tag is a customizable word or phrase you can use to categorize your transactions in MyMark. Using tags helps you get a better idea of how you are spending your money. MyMark will auto-tag your most recent transactions for you. We suggest you edit your tags by clicking on the “Edit” button associated with each transaction. MyMark tags make it simple for you to track your spending in entirely new ways. You can customize your tags to give you a more accurate view of your budget and financial picture. Keep in mind; tags are spelling and case sensitive. For best results, keep the spelling and capitalization in your tags consistent. 

How do I upload my Firstmark Credit Union account to MyMark?

Your Firstmark Credit Union accounts are pre-loaded into MyMark when you sign in. 

How do I create a MyMark Goal?

MyMark Goals allow you to monitor your financial goals and stay on track. The MyMark Goals feature helps you create a goal, and then helps that goal become a reality! To create a new goal, click the green “Add A Goal” button on the Goals screen. Choose between a payoff and savings goal, and select which picture best represents your goal - you can then enter a custom name if you’d like. You’ll be able to choose which account you’d like the goal to be associated with and at what balance it will be complete. Finally, choose either the date you want this goal to be completed or how much you are able to save each month, which will calculate a due date for you. Use the “how much do I have available to spend” button to aid you in this. Finally, choose whether or not to ‘lock’ a certain balance in your account. Click the green “Create Goal” button, and you’re on your way to financial success! You’ll now be able to track your progress on the MyMark Goals screen in the future.

On the MyMark Goals screen, you can add, delete, or edit existing goals in addition to viewing your current progress. You can also create multiple goals on the same account, and track your progress with a MyMark Dashboard completion meter in addition to text and email alerts. Finally, you're able to choose to “lock” a sum of money from being counted towards your goals if you wish. This provides an extremely accurate reading of your current goal progress! (Keep in mind that no real money is ever locked in Goals).

How do I use my MyMark Cashflow calendar?

Use the MyMark Cashflow calendar to get a quick glance of when your bills are due, when your paycheck is coming, and for viewing safe to spend balances. Click the navigation item "Cashflow" to open the calendar and simply click on a day to add a new income source or bill due. The Cashflow calendar is used for all incomes and all recurring bills. It helps you see how much you have left available to budget for discretionary spending. 

How do I add a MyMark Alert?

Here's how to set up your MyMark Alerts:

Click on the navigation item "Alerts" at the top of the page.

Click on "Add an Alert" to get started.

 Choose your MyMark Alert type:

  • Account Balance Alert
  • Spending Target Exceeded
  • Bill Reminder Alert
  • Large Transaction Alert
  • Goal Progress Alert
  • Specific Store Alert

 Choose the MyMark Alert Options

Next, click "Add Alert." Be sure that you are prepared to receive these alerts as you requested. Keep in mind that there is often a slight delay between triggering an alert and receiving it.

How do I change the accounts I want to use on my MyMark Cashflow calendar?

You can choose which accounts you would like to use on your MyMark Cashflow calendar. Follow these simple steps to choose which accounts make up the estimated balance in Cashflow:

  • On the Cashflow page, click the blue 'Choose Accounts' link in the box above the calendar.
  • Check the boxes next to the accounts you'd like to include in the balance.
  • Click 'Save and Close'.

Use MyMark to create a budget, create a financial calendar, track your expenses, set financial goals, create alerts for yourself via mobile texting or email, and much more! 

Why can’t I remove Firstmark Credit Union accounts from MyMark?

At this time Firstmark Credit Union accounts are automatically added. Soon, you will be able to delete Firstmark Credit Union accounts from your MyMark. Please note: You can change the accounts you want to use on your MyMark Cashflow calendar. 

How do I use my MyMark Net Worth screen?

MyMark Net Worth gives you a quick snapshot of your entire financial picture. It allows you to see your total assets versus your total debts. You can view recent increases or decreases in your Net Worth here. Any accounts that you are unable to add to the MyMark Dashboard or accounts that don’t show a balance, can be added here manually as an asset or debt account. This will allow you to include all your accounts in MyMark even if they’re not shown on the left sidebar listing. The same applies for assets/debts that aren't accounts, i.e. the car you now own or the money you owe a relative.

How do I use MyMark Alerts?

MyMark Alerts are personalized notifications sent to your email and/or mobile device, which help you keep track of activity in your accounts. If you've set up a bill, it can alert you when that bill is approaching its due date. If you want to monitor your checking account to avoid overdrafts, you can set up a low balance alert to let you know when your account falls below a certain amount. MyMark Alerts allows you to control your money smartly. 

How do I change my MyMark spending targets within my budget?

To edit or delete your spending targets:

  • Click on the navigation item "Budget" at the top of the page.
  • Click on the spending target you'd like to modify from the list.
  • At the top of the page, click the "Edit" or "Delete" buttons.
  • Here you can change the name, amount, tags, and accounts associated with this spending target.

Tip: If your MyMark budgets aren't updating correctly, be sure that your transactions have posted in the current month, that you have the proper account(s) included for each spending target, and that your tags match the spending target tags exactly.

Can a transaction have more than one tag in MyMark?

Yes! MyMark makes it easy for you by offering split tags. There is no limit to the number of tags you can add on a transaction in MyMark. If you would like to “split tag” your transaction, please take the following steps: 

  • Click on any transaction to edit it.
  • Click the "split tags" button in the Tag area of the form.
  • Enter your first desired tag and its allocated value in the first row of fields that appear.
  • Repeat the process for each tag, ensuring that the entire balance of the transaction is accounted for.
  • Click the "add another tag" button if you want to split between more than two tags. There is no limit to the number of tags you can enter here.
  • Click "Save Transaction" to finalize the changes.

How do I remove a tag in MyMark?

If you'd like to remove the tag on a transaction, follow these steps:

  • Click on the transaction requiring a deleted tag
  • Click the 'x' in the tag you wish to remove. 

Please Note: Re-tagging is beneficial to you while using MyMark. MyMark gets smarter by monitoring and saving these re-tags, which causes future tagging accuracy to increase. By creating personal tags, you can also customize MyMark to your preference. Creating your own tags will take precedence over the old ones and allow you to make MyMark your own.
