Credit Unions For Kids

What is Credit Unions for Kids?

Established in 1986 by local credit unions, Credit Unions for Kids is a program designed to raise money for our local, non-profit Children's Miracle Network hospital, the Children's Hospital of San Antonio, formerly Santa Rosa Children's Hospital. Firstmark Credit Union (then San Antonio Teachers Credit Union) joined in raising $2,500 for the hospital that first year. Together, Firstmark Credit Union employees and members have together raised over $1M to date – and we are not finished yet!  We reached our 2017 goal of $50K so we thought we would do it again in 2018! See "How to Donate" on the left of this page if you would like to help us reach our goal.

Why does Firstmark choose to give to Credit Unions for Kids?

We share many of the same values.

  1. With our roots being in education and caring for children, it was (and still is) a natural fit.
  2. They mirror our credit union philosophy of "People Helping People" and making a difference in people's lives.
  3. We give back to our community
  4. All revenues are focused on taking care of people and their families
