Firstmark Credit Union Launches Innovative Website

Leading San Antonio Financial Institution Creates Responsive Website for Greater Online Experience

San Antonio, TX – July 9, 2013 -- Firstmark Credit Union, a leading San Antonio financial institution, announced the launch of its newly-designed responsive website, aimed at providing visitors with an improved online experience.

“Our goal is to deliver the best possible online experience for our current and future members,” said Leon Ewing, President/CEO. “The responsive website automatically adjusts to multiple screen sizes, helping people find the information they need quickly and easily on all platforms and devices.

According to a 2012 Study by MobiThinking, 25% of mobile users in the U.S. are mobile only -- meaning those users rarely browse the internet on a desktop or laptop computer. While today’s mobile technology is expansive, each device is unique as it possesses a different screen size and resolution.

“It was a complex project” said Todd Lanier, website designer for Firstmark Credit Union. The design work took about nine months and included an in-depth analysis of website visitor behavior. “We saw a significant increase in mobile device usage and wanted to ensure that mobile users received the same high-quality experience as any other online user,” said Lanier.

In addition to the visible design changes, significant work was done on the back-end architecture to enable ongoing testing and optimization of the new site. “Branch and ATM location searches occur much more frequently on a smartphone than they do on a tablet or desktop device,” explained Lanier. “Our web analytics tools help us to prioritize the content by device-type and continuously test and refine the visitor experience.”
