Firstmark Credit Union 2008-2009
Educator Award
Firstmark Credit Union will award ten $500 scholarships to area educators in December of 2008. All winners may use their scholarship money to purchase teaching materials or to finance projects or activities that will benefit their classrooms and students. All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Eligibility is limited to full-time educators, in grades K through 12, within Bexar County and/or any of the 12 surrounding counties.
- All applicants must be members of Firstmark Credit Union.
All applicants must submit a complete scholarship application form, along with all the following materials:
- A double-spaced, typed, one-page essay identifying the different types of teaching methods that are currently used in the classroom. This essay should also explain how the scholarship money will be used and how it will make a difference in the lives of your students.
- Examples of any past projects/activities similar to the proposed projects/activities that will be financed using this scholarship money. Pictures, videos, project materials etc. will be accepted and will be returned if requested.
- A letter of recommendation from your school administration (principal or vice principal).

any of the requested materials will result in the disqualification
of your application.

Evaluation of all applicants and selection of contest winners will be made by the Firstmark Credit Union Scholarship Team. Winners will be notified no later than December 15, 2008. The names of all winners will be published in the Winter 2009 FirstNews newsletter.
