Scholarships

You may have heard that millions of dollars of scholarships go unused each year. The trick is finding the scholarship that matches your student’s qualifications. Some are based on financial need, others on GPAs and entrance exams, others on the high school attended, or where the parents work. Get started… first look for local scholarships from area businesses and community organizations. Your chances of receiving these may be greater than for national scholarships.

Financial Assistance

The first step toward applying for financial assistance is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FAFSA is the federal application for financial aid, and it may also be used to apply for aid from other sources, such as your state or school. The deadlines for your state or schools may be different from the federal deadlines and you may be required to complete additional forms.

You should also check with your high school guidance counselor or a financial aid administrator at your school about state and school sources of student aid.

Student Loans

Research shows loans are the largest form of student aid, making up 54% of the total aid awarded each year. Click here to learn about your loan options.
